Reverse Engineering

Coda Octopus Engineering is routinely called to reverse engineer or redesign obsolete systems. This entails working closely with the customer to ensure updated designs meet all the legacy performance and testing requirements. One recent example was the development of a legacy X-Windows terminal to provides ethernet interface and video graphics. Coda Octopus Engineering had to reverse engineer the obsolete terminal and take existing Government design documents to build a functionally equivalent unit using modern technologies to reduce further obsolete parts issues. Full environmental and EMI/EMC qualification testing was completed. Coda Octopus Engineering performed reliability analysis to ensure mean-time-between failure (MTBF) requirements were met. We also made performance improvements, improved configurability, and decreased the size, weight, and power reequipments, providing a solution that is easier to integrate than its predecessor.
