For over 30 years, Coda Octopus Engineering has supported major military defense systems including the MK-15 CIWS (Phalanx/SeaRAM) and AQS-24 Mine Hunting system. They provide full lifecycle support, including design, sustainment, and redesigns of key electronic and processing components like rugged computers. Their obsolescence management ensures future redesigns extend system life while maintaining backwards compatibility.
Coda Octopus Engineering develops PCBAs requiring embedded OS (Windows, VxWorks, Linux), FPGAs (Verilog), and DSPs. An example is their custom AQS-24 mine hunting telemetry system. This DSP-based design created a high-speed 400 Mb/sec OFDM link over the tow cable, including RF circuitry for multiplexing. The system features custom topside/sonar vehicle cards, integrated control, and FPGA/Linux support for Ethernet bridging.
Coda Octopus Engineering has produced custom, rugged embedded computers for over 15 years, with the current Thermite® family offering three versatile lines. Manufactured in their AS9100:D certified facility in Salt Lake City to IPC-A-610 Class 3 or EIA J-STD-001 Class 3 standards, these compact, configurable computers are built for diverse CPU, GPU, storage, and I/O needs. HASS and ESS are used to ensure product functionality.
